The POLITICO segment covers the spread of Flock Safety license plate reader cameras and growing local opposition. It notes over 80,000 units deployed, more than 20 contract cancellations in July (a record month), protests, vandalism, and fears over data use for protests, abortions, or immigration. Flock's CEO previously labeled critics a 'terroristic organization' akin to Antifa before walking it back. The company disputes ongoing ICE/DHS links and states new contracts outpace losses seven-to-one.
